The Most Desirable Traits in Men

A Little Bit Before I Start...

I'm usually the "goto girl" when one of my friends has relationship issues. While I'm used to counseling others about relationships, I won't be doing that in this hub! I want to talk about what makes men attractive and what traits women desire in men most of all!

The one thing I want to keep in mind, however, is that I don't want this to be a "lecture". There's too many one-way conversations. I want to make this an interactive hub about romance!

I've managed to ramble on about myself, but let's start this hub off the best way I know how to: With a question! (That only women should be responsible for answering...!)

Let's find out what we girls look for in a guy the most! (Guys, take note of this! You should look at the results without voting.. Unless you have a keen insight about what women like in men, then by all mens feel free to vote.)

The Big Question! (For Women About Men)

What is the most important trait?

  • Masculinity
  • Being a Good Father Figure
  • Being Light-hearted
  • Knowing how to Play
  • Being Able to Carry a Conversation
  • Making You Feel Special
  • Looking Good
  • Having Lots and Lots of Money

So what ARE the most desirable traits find in men?

So I've asked the women who view this blog what they think the most important traits are in men. But what do I think they are?

While I believe that these do play a part for certain women, I do not think the following are important traits: Richness, masculinity, and fitness. All of these are really physical aspects of a man.

Money is nice, but wealth breeds greed and unhappiness. Masculinity can lead to frat-like behavior (and, of course, cheating.) Being physically fit is something every person (men and women included) should strive for, but it is not a big factor. A guy with six-packs and a terrible attitude receives less attention than the chubby guy who knows how to make a woman laugh.

The Desirable Traits

The desirable traits that women look for in men include: Being a good father figure, being light-hearted, knowing how to play, making a lady feel special, and having a sense of how to make himself look good.

What is possibly the thing that can make any woman's heart melt on the spot? Seeing a guy climbing a tree to get a small child's cat stuck in a tree! The reason that fatherliness is so important is that it means a man is charitable and knows how to respond to a situation. I could write leagues about it, but if you want an example of how to be more father-like, read the entirety of Truths My Father Told Me.

Now being light-hearted and knowing how to play are so closely related that I dare say they are hand-in-hand for being something women want in a man. Being able to verbalize humor (in the form of jokes most times) whilst simultaneously warding off negativity is important to women. Plus for men, it helps to break the ice or help when a girl is mad at you.

Knowing how to look good is yet another factor. I'm not talking about fashion, because that can be a bit odd at times. I'm talking about looking like a real man. Carry yourself, keep your shoulders squared, look straight ahead and dress respectfully!

But Above All Else, Make Her Feel Special!

The single most important trait in this author's eyes in a man in knowing how to make her feel special. But how do you do this? It's easy: listen to her.

If you know what a woman's heart says, you can make her happy. It's as simple as that!

But in order to be able to listen, you can't be busy with things like worrying about how you appear to her, or if she's mad at you. In order to truly understand a woman's heart and be the most desirable type of man you can be, you need to be kind to her and help her when she needs it!
